PAMPA, Tex. -Raymond Ater, Shortstop of the independent Pampa team, died here, July 22, after being hit on the head by a pitched ball against Shawnee, Okla., the day before. H. Smith was on the mound for the Oklahoma team. Ater was born in Roscoe, Tex. , Nov. 22 1911, and was with Tyler in 1932. Last year he was with Fort Worth of the Texas League.
