Poetry, Etc.

John was climbing up the windshield and on top of the car.

"Look at how bold John is, Sarah."

"Daddy, I'm not bald, you're bald."

***

We were driving to the library in the late afternoon.

"Daddy, the sun is the eye of death."

***

"It looks like Christmas, Daddy."

"Why do you say that, John?"

"Because I like to."

Wants and Needs

"Dad, I need my milk now."

"John, let me give you some examples of needs. You need air, you need water, you need, food, you need a roof over your head, and you need clothes. Those are the things you need."

"Also, I need my milk now."

Hold Your Horses

John was holding a stuffed horse with wings. "This is Arabella."

"Daddy, can you put in the Bob the Builder video now?"

"Hold your horses, John. That means wait."

"I am holding my horse."
